Male Betta Has Died :(

I don't understand

Yesterday he was all happy blowing me a bubble nest

Today i come home from work and he's dead with his gills really puffed out

Any idea's?

the gills being puffed out is a classic look of a deceased betta, sorry for your lose.

Sorry for your loss. He could have just died of old age.
