"Balloon" fish are purposely bred for deformities to occur, scoliosis is common in these fish. Their organs are compressed because of the bent spine, and the fish suffer from nervous, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, urogenital and muscular system problems.

IMO, it is cruel and inhumane for these fish to be bred and sold.

They usually don't live long....the issues with your fish swimming the way it does are too numerous to even guess what it could be.

Have a look at these articles:

Hi ,I got given these ballon mollies as the owner didn't want them so I had a spare 20 gallon tank to rehome them,I know about the terrible breeding process I just wanted to give them a good home or they could of been no more, just want some advice on the shaking while swimming.

Fish can shake like this when there's something wrong with your water parameters. But fish with cropped bodies are very sensitive to disturbance in the water parameters anyways.

Again, there's a multitude of reasons that could be causing the behavior you are seeing.

Thank you for rescuing them, all you can do at this point is provide them the best care possible.

I test the water every week with the api test kit my water parameters are in my first post and haven't changed all the other mollies are acting as normal, I know they can be very sensitive to water changes but water change not due till Monday.

This specific one could've been already weaker than the others and therefore more sensitive...

His never done it before ,had them for over 3 months no issues, his not shaking as much so hopefully a stress issue with the females getting the hump with him.
Give it some time and see how it will unfold.
