Malawi's In A 55 Gallon.

hi,i am in the process of emptying my tank and restarting again with malawi's.i would like advice on,how many fish would be the ideal baring in mind i'm looking for the most colourful malawi's.any pics and names would be brilliant.

Well, that's a tough question because there are so many species to choose from. Most Malawis are very colorful and it becomes a matter of preference and what is available locally. Since Malawis range in size form just over 2" to well over a foot, the stocking levels can't be determined until there's an idea of what type of Malawi tank you want.

Here you can find profiles of all sorts of fish, a good place to browse and find what you like. Choose "Malawi" and then you have a choice between mbuna, haplichromines, and Peacocks - depending which type of setup interests from you. Once we get a couple of ideas of your favourates we can start helping you plan a tank around them and get some ideas of suitable tankmates and stocking levels.

Another good way to go about is look ing at what Cichlids you can get your hands on and then seeing how they will mix with each other and such
