Making Saltwater - How Much To Mix?

So would you recommend this salt for Marine begginer?

Also what is Sybon temperature adjusting refractometer ? Whats wrong with a hydrometre?

Not sure fella, the profile looks good, its mixes well (once you take operator out of it!!) and is well priced - anyone else use this?

Sybon is the manufacturer and a refractometer is much more accurate at measuring salinity than a hydrometer, I've used a hydrometer and it was grossly inaccurate. This Sybon is a great bit of kit >> link

hydrometers are crap and have inacurate readings, salt mix isnt really something thats for begginers or experts its all the same basicaly, accept for addittives in them

i think we should let this die and never come back again.....

This morning, 1.023 which is my target - great. There is still evidence of "stuff" in the bottom that has not completely dissolved - guess this is a by-product of a cheap brand?

Are there major differences in quality amongst manufacturers?

Does anyone know of any online stores that are doing cheap deals on good quality salt?

I've now got everything i need for my marine setup, except for one little small thing... salt.

Yup, the same place as I got mine or you can get Tropic Marin Salt from Hellesdon Barn Aquatics for the same price on eBay

Tropic Marin Salt is good? Price seems pretty decent 10kg (300lt) for £30.00 (including delivery)
Should leave me with about 40lts spare for future waters changes. (Atleast until I next get paid..)

For a beginner... Salt is salt. When you start trying to grow exotic corals, you might want to consider some "higher quality" brands.
