Making Changes

I have recently decided to switch from gravel to sand and purchased some the other day. When I got home I noticed that my fish have ich. I bought meds, and raised the temp and all that, but I noticed that it says on the med. bottle to do 50% water changes every day while I am treating the ich. So my question is; Since changing the tank from gravel to sand will require some major cleaning and water changing should I go ahead and do the switch now, or wait till my fish recover from the ich? Thank you!

You may as well do it now while the fish are sick. If you wait until they have cleared up you could stress them out when you add the sand after.

It isn't a really stressful job to do. Just gravel clean the tank then use a fish net to scoop out the gravel. Start at one side of the tank and work your way across. Once the gravel has been removed, wash the sand and carefully pour it into the tank. If you have a power filter then turn it off before you add the sand. Wait for 10minutes after the sand has been added, before you turn the filter back on.

Thank you. I was thinking the around the same thing. I just didn't want to do anything to hurt the little guys more than they are already messed up ya know?
