Hi guys I am in the middle of a couple projects atm one being fixing the dreaded Juwel light bar on my Rio 240, and the other being building a stand for my Aqua nano 40.
so i thought i would just upload a few pics of this little build.
nowdont get too excited as this is only a temporary stand and only want it to last until January and I have made it as cheaply as possible as I have recently found out im going to be a Daddy :) so putting as much aside to move to a bigger house.
so basically this tank was stood on a small modular type unit that was in the house when we moved in but this was only 20cm (if that) high so after it has been sat on here for over a year now i decided thats it i cant take it anymore.
so my plan was to basically extend the unit to about 70cm high.
I had some warious wood lying around so decided I would give that a go and see how stong i could make it.

so heres a pic of the stand built and with the first coat of matt black paint on the inside to see how it covered.
I am planning on putting a door on in the future but this will have to be bought as I dont have anything suitable lying around.

and then heres a pic of the tank waiting to go on and be completely rescaped. not sure what direction I want to go with it yet.

more pics will be coming tonight or tomorrow to show what it looks like with paint on the outside.

PS if anyone is worried about the strength of it I tested it with me (80kg) and 40kg of dumbbell weights and didn't move at all so im quite satisfied it can hold my 55litre tank.

any comments welcome especially ideas for the tank which will be in my office so want it to look good as i will see it pretty much whenever im at home.

thanks for looking
