I know there is many guides on a stand, but I really need to get it right. It needs to be strong enough to hold 60 gallons of water, and not be to bulky. It needs to hold a 2ft cube, but the most important part, it NEEDS (I repeat, NEEDS), to look proffesional, otherwise my mam won't let me have it.
Does anyone have a list of materials I should use? I know the basic frame I should probably use, but not sure on woodtypes or anything like that. Any tips to make it look smarter will be much appreciated!

Does anyone have any ideas or detailed guides suited to my specifications? I'm thinking of making one in resistant materials when I get the chance. That means i'd get free wood, all the equiptment to build it with and expert help.

Im building a stand for my 4x2x2 soon, should be on the coming weekend, but anyway, one for a 2 foot cube will be easy and cheap,

I am using 2" x 4" normal pine wood from either b &q or wickes, the actuall size in mm is 44mm x 96mm.

This should definatly work for your 2f cube, a simple design like the one in this link will work, If I was making one I would have 3 cross parts for the top frame to support under the tank.

For making it look pretty, you can cover it in either thinnner strips or pine proly about 1cm by 10cm or so, just got the measurements out my head, and cover it in that. or a easier and cheaper option using either mdf or plywood,

if you use plywood use one that it exterior grade, this is some water proof glue in it to prevent it from swelling, if you use mdf make sure you seal the intire stand very well in some varnish to water proof it,

for doors you could have 2 small 1 foot or so ones, or 1 big one just under 2 foot. using also mdf or plywood, use some hinges on the main framing and a little handle then you have a door.

get a nice staining to it or paint it to make it look nicer. But you must make sure to water proof it before appliing anything else according to your house decor, or what ever you like .

Sorry if any mistakes, typing with very quick

there you go, some of my 2 pennies
