Making A Gravel Vacuum Siphon Bigger?

i have a 1 inch diameter pump but since i got a larger tank i need a bigger end suction thing to get it all cleaned better. can i just add a filter end cone type thing to the end of my existing one that is removeable and put a rubber strip around the 1 inch end to seal it.

i'd like it removeable so that i can do both small and the big tanks

You're siphon needs a valve to prevent backflow.
