hi all
im going to try something out, i went to a D.I.Y shop and saw they sold perspex in massive sheets for £10 and though Hmmmm could i cut it and glue it together to make my own betta tanks like beanie boxes, ild have to find somewhere that sell fish safe glue, do you think this would work? and what would be the best size to make the tanks?

and does anyone know where i could get some glue from in the UK any shops in the northants area or some where that mail orders it?

Use aquarium sealent. Most pet shops sell it. As for size, work out how many litres you want it to be (say, 11 which is about 3 gallons) then put the literage into ml and find the cubic root. That is how big each side needs to be in cm if you're making a cube.

There's a great walk thorugh on making tanks in the do it yourself forum. I think you need to make sure you use a sealant designed for aquariums, as OohFeeshy said (or aquarium scillicone) as most other caulking materials can release poisons into the water.
