first off make sure you have a decent cellphone, that umm DOESNT GIVE CANCEROUS RADIATION!!! :grr:
and make sure its not your REAL PHONE either, no fish wats to talk to your friend about how great bacon bits are, and lastly you should make sure you WANT to use this phone as a moonlight for your fish

step 1. get your old phone with an lcd backlight blue seems to be most popular, set the phones backlight to maximum, my phones maximum is 20 seconds make sure you have that one button that doesn nothing but turn the light on and keep it on, some phones have the END button as a power button too, umm obviously this isnt a good way to keep a moon light on, a directional arrow key is usually good or the volume button on the side(if it doesnt make noise when you push it), holding the menu button sometimes does the trick.

step2. charge the phone :good:

you following me???
ok now goto your phones settings again and adjust the contrast, more contrast= darker light | less contrast = brighter light.

im setting mine for more or darker contrast because the fish wouldnt enjoy a bright light when they are trying to sleep and ive got some fry on the loose and the last thing i need is for them to get spotted and eaten(savage fish), and its in my bedroom so im not gonna deal with waking up at 2 am cuz the moonlight is too bright

Step 3. grap your hood media and use a hot glue gun or duct tape or somethign that can fully secure the phone in place, put it in a place that you can charge it after it has run out of battery, my phoone has a cord, therefore its very easy to recharge, or you could tape it to the side like i did for a slanted effect my fish love it

step 4. turn off your lights and turn on your old phone HORRAY!!!! pretty colors

yeah but i just havent gotten around to uploading them

I have never heard of this. I would like to see a picture of how this looks like . A picture of the whole tank. :sly:

its too bad my camera isnt quite the Bomb when it comes to pictures of soft light

id like to add that the first night the fish got very curiousabotu their new lightand went exploring for a little, it was cool to see black fish swim around, then thye got to sleepin' and the phone shut off after te battery died this morning just in time for the sun

what do u use to keep the light on ????

mines a nokia i set it on a short vidoe clip and adjusted the settings to loop (so the short clip keeps repeating itself) this kept the light on, although the screen was fair to crap removal of the cover gave me some bright mini LED's (keypad light) works a treat but the battery packed in
:X
