I have a Fluval U2 and Fluval U4 as well as an external in my tank and the U2 has steadily got slower and slower in flow. I've cleaned the whole thing, taken it all apart and can't help but think I'm missing something.

I think that the pipes up to the outlet are clogged/dirty but don't know how to get at them to clean them, any ideas?

Luckily I have the U4 still blasting to keep the water flowing.

I've found exactly the same with my U3. Cleaned all the pads and whatever else I could get to and it has made no difference. The flow has definitely decreased since I first installed it, at which point I actually had to turn it down a little. If you do manage to restore the full flow rate then please let me know how!

I think I'm going to take out the U2 and give it another really good go over this week so will let you know if I have any luck. Think I might attempt blasting the outlet pipes to see if I can dislodge anything that way, will need to remove the motor and blast that again too.

This is really annoying because you expect filters (especially the newer ones) to be easily cleaned to prevent this kind of problem!

Yes, please do let me know how you get on, otherwise I'm just going to have to buy a new one and transfer my media across. Thanks.
