The male is still too small to wrap with the females, I think. I have seen a lot of spawning behaviour, but no eggs yet. A coworker taught me an easy way to strip eggs, and I have practiced a few times on the African cichlids at work, so I'm prepared to do that if necessary . If you clamp their gill plates down, it's reflex for them to open their mouths and you can just sorta dump the fry out... supposedly it works on all species, and the fish don't seem too traumatized by it.

Once you get them to breed try to keep the male separate so he does not breed again before he regains his strength. I have had some of the other larger mouth breeders and the male would breed himself to death if I let him. .PS. you do have at least one of the best bosses.
