Lyretail Swordtail Fry! *2 Month Old Update, Pg 4*

I have also heard of people using the bags of sand from hardware stores and stuff, to weigh down vehicles during the winter. Anyone else heard of it :/

Hmmm, I dunno about the hardware stuff, but Im still new to all this lol. I know you can use pool filter sand, whatever that is, maybe its the same stuff? *shrug*

Re Morquinn--If its rinsed out well (put it in a bucket, fill with water, stir, pour, and repeat a bunch of time) we had no problem having it settle. In the big main tank it took about a half an hour with no acurel F (water clearing thing) using it in the little tank, it took about 5 minutes.

r u a us resident or a uk resident? Pm with the shipping amonuts please becuase i am interested!

THanks!

I am in the US, In connecticut. To be honest, I have never shipped...anything...before lol, nevermind fish. If you are interested, do you know how I would go about doing that? Anyone know of a good place that ships fish?

The babies are adorable! I have swordtails and one just gave birth to 24 or so on Saturday night. If anyone is interested in some (since I'm running out of room for them!) I'll be more than happy to give them to you provided you pay for shipping. Here are some of the last batch of fry as well as a pic of the grown up swordtails. They have all been bred and raised by me :)

Any updated pics? FishRFriends? hows your frys doing.? I bought three more lyretail, 2 more female and 1 male but the male died yesterday.

Im so sorry its been forever. My life just went into overdrive with just so much to put up with and I havent been online or even near a computer in weeks. But, its all good now and I have pics!!!!!

Sadly though about two weeks ago my babies somehow, that has me baffled, they caugt a small bought of ich, which wiped out a lot of babies :-( I have 8 left, all doing great and healed up very well. they seem to have hit a growth stop at the moment. They had been getting bigger by the day and now they are slowing down, but they are still pretty big, about 3/4 inch now. Two of them have me worried, as they are less than half the size as the others and dont seem to be catching up, but we will just have to see.

At this point I think its safe to say none of them will be lyretailed, unless it takes longer than 2 months to tell, Im not really really sure.

(btw, my sister dropped the camera and smashed it up pretty good, so I could only take a few, kinda blurry pics, but they are better than nothing...I think lol)

I redid their tank. The sand was bugging the heck out of me in such a small tank lol. So now its like this:

The babies are so cute! Sorry you lost some (and the mommy), but hopefully the rest will make it. :good: And best of luck getting a new camera! :D

Cuteness overload from the 4th picture! What a face!

Sorry to hear about the ich. That's a kicker. But I'm glad some still survived for you!

Nice looking tank for them! :good: Also, I'm pretty sure that's an oto who's in there with them... he's pretty cute too. :D

Thanks everyone!!! I got some of this food supplement thing that says it promotes growth that ive been using for about a week and today I really saw some improvement! The little ones have already gotten much bigger!
