I am looking to create a lush carpeted/grassy look to my tank. I'm not sure which plants would accomplish this. Any help would be appreciated.

Echinodorus tenellus, Eleocharis acicularis, Eleocharis ''parvula'', Glossostigma elantinoides, Lilaeopsis brasiliensis, Hemianthus callitrichoides, Sagittaria platyphylla, Sagittaria subulata.

Most carpeting plants require plenty of light, CO2 and nutrient-rich substrate to do well. Some of the above will do ok without. Google search each to find out more info or check out www.tropica.com.

Riccia and java moss are nice
Riccia fluitans and Vesicularia dubyana
I don't know the scientific names, but who wants to be a nerd? :grr:
"Nerds" like me make the planted tank hobby easier for people like you. Disrespecful gestures like "who wants to be a nerd? :grr: " are totally unecessary.

i'm sure he was only being sarcastic, no need to start flaring our own "fins" at each other...

i've had good success w/ riccia, but do some research on AB (Aqua Botanic) or APC (Aquatic Plant Central) [both have recently merged], and you'll come up w/ some great answers

Thats a bit out of order the nerds(as you call them)on these forums help alot of people out, and there posts have been very helpful to myself and many others im sure.

Ah, i'm sorry if I offended anyone, it was just a bit of sarcasm. The "nerds" are cool anyway, they have given me loads of help. I was only joking so keep your hair on, if you have any that is...

Neal :good:

Pft, nerds... Joking!

I take no offence to being called a "nerd" as such, after all I'm probably one of the biggest planted "nerds" on here, hence my role as a moderator.

What I found unecessary was combination of the said question and the " :grr: " smiley attached. To me at least a " :grr: " indicates a form of intended negativity/offence.

Sarcasm is fine if you know the person who you are being sarcastic to. You do not. If you did you may know that I have hair, and you would know my present situation. So when referring to me I ask you politely to avoid sarcasm in the future.

May I suggest you also refrain from sarcasm to other members who you do not know, it may cause offence as hopefully you now realise.

Regards,
George

And where would the planted section without the all-knowing George?!?!

Anyways, I have had luck with my Dwarf Hairgrass (I don't know if this is a species that Georde Listed) but it looks, well, grassy and spreads fairly quickly.
