Found this on ebay. It takes 2 x T8 18W bulbs. Would "aquarium bulbs" fit this? Do you think it would work ok for a 2 ft (15 gallon) tank?

Also, from the picture it doesn't look too bad. Do you think it would look ok above the tank?? :crazy:

well you'd have about 2.4 wpg. Depends what your needs of the light are
post up the link from ebay to let us check it out.
 
I work at Chester Zoo and in our aquarium over some of the off show tanks they use these same lights for lighting the tanks and the work area, and use Triton tubes, they grow some anubius and soft corals under these lights. They are not used for growing anything just for illumination of the tanks.
There not very reflective though, but cheap.
 
Moody, do they use just normal working bulbs in them though? if I used aquarium bulbs for them would they work ok? (they'd be a hell of a lot cheaper than an arcadia luminaire that's for sure!)

I could always buy one and do a little diy with mirrors/reflectors to try and help.
