enought about the price of plecs what am i gona do bout my babies new house !!what will i do in the mean time!!

Congrats ! :hyper:

So let me get this straight: The only tank you have up and running at the moment is the 28litre tank ?

That tank is certainly too small - but if that's the case and it were me - it's put them in there and be ultra meticulous about water changes and filtration - until you can set up a decent sized tank for them alone (check size with smithrc) that's absolutely rock solid stable - not just freshly cycled. Young fish should not really go into a new and unstable tank. Especially not zebs

I'd get the new tank fully cycled and thereafter run with some danios (or similar hardy) for at least a month before adding zebs.

That's what I would do if I were in your situation (and didn't already have the correct tank up and running / mature & stable for them in anticipation).

i also hav a 180 litre tank which is running almost full but has 2plecs an a fertherfin cat aswel the offer of zebs wer to gd to miss its not often they appear up 4sale in scotland

what about if i just buy a large glass tank and put the water, heater an filter in the new tank whch is larger?? i no its not ideal at the moment but im kind of stuck

OR

will i move out my 2plecs in2 the new glas tank i wil buy 2mo?and put my 4zebs into my 180 litre tank ?as they would be fine in there this is only a temp meassure, the 180 tank has been running 8months and is stable

right... I'd be bothered about the additional bioload on the 28l... The size is a bit small really even for the short term.

I'd be happier with them in the 180 and then spend a while catching them. the tank is stable - the stocking and filtration is heavier so more bacteria to cope withthe plecs ;)

They wont be that hard to catch... I have just moved 5 BN's out of our 190L and it was relativly easy - just put a net (course mesh so they dont get tangled) at the front then 'persuade' them round the tank with your hand ;)

What size tank are you planning on for their permanent home?

there new home is a rena 120x40x55 and going for sand as a substraight with plenty of bogwoond an slate caves!! i agree i think putting them in my 180litre tank is the better of my ideas ill let u no how it goes tomo night an post pics thanks fr the help guys n gurls

about 200L then... water changes in that are going to be a bugger :)

I use RO for water changes - 25L RO mixed with some tap water (about 10l)
Monitor the PH and KH/GH if its too low - use more tap water in the mix ;)

Good luck tomorrow ;)
