Sadly by the time i decided I wanted live plants i had already completed my 2 tone sand substrate so putting a planting substrate in now isn't really an option

Will using Easy Carbo TPN + and root tablets be enough to compensate for not having a proper planting substrate ?

The tank is 240l with 1 X 40watt PowerGlo & 1 X 40watt AquaGlo

Plants arrived today trying to figure out what will live with rootabs tropica + and easy carbo from the prev list and what will just rot/die

Also are there any C02 systems suitable for a 240l tank or will i need to look at multiple smaller units ?

Hi fishy,

your watt per gallon is somewhere inbetween 1-1.5 wpg, right?

this means its low tech, and the addition of carbon would be pretty pointless unless you increased the lighting. I don't think you'll need the planting substrate although I used it tropica substrate myself I don't think its necessary. Most plants take up most of the nutrients they require through the leaves. Theres a big plant list there and i'm not really familiar with plants being a newbie but there are definately a few fast growing and easy to look after plants there.
