HI All

I am after some plant names that would grow reasonably well in my 365 litre tank. I have 4 5ft 40W bulbs. No CO2.

Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave

Java Ferns, Java moss, Anubias species plants and some Cryptocoryne species will also do well in low light tanks.

Heres a link with a good few plants listed for low light tanks pics as well to give you a better idea.

I had an amazon sword do ok in my tank that had 1ish wpg. Did much better when I upped the light, but it did grow in there.

Thanks very much, any species that may grow tall? I had Vallis that grew very well in low lights but have since upgraded tank and would prefer something else.

I have some Java fern leaves nearing 10" in a 29 gallon one old fluorescent tube , in my 70 gal , my echinos [ amazon swords ] are only about 6 or 7 " my lighting is marginal at best, and I have no Co2 , I will tell you Java can be a slow grower , took mine about 6 months to go from 3 or 4" to what it is now .........Onion plants "crinium" species had done well in my tanks , also aponogeton , I have some also at about 10 inches , also a lilly "nyphia lotus " has done well in my tank .

my 70 gallon on this post , Java fern in this tank on left , only about 6" , there is an apon slightly off center to the left growing well , and off center to the right an amazon sword , the nymphaea is the plant in the middle, it's a messy jungle , but both I and the fish like it .....
