I purchased a 29 gal biocube to start a saltwater reef. After putting in the water, sand, and live rock, I plugged in the filter. It sounded more like a hacking pump than the quiet sound I expected. It seems that there is not enough water in chamber three. When I fill it with more water, it works fine until it filters it into aquarium and again it starts the loud nice. HELP!!!! Any suggestions? ( refusing to empty it and take it back) Thanks....

Maybe a stupid question, but have you tried putting more water in? I usually fill mine up to as much as it will take.

Actually you hit it right on. I actually overfilled, what they say to put in the tank, with water. That was it. Thanks so much!! I like simple answers. So...is a week enough to wait before putting in some fish? Besides clowns, what else do you suggest? How long before attempting coral?

I'm not sure about the salt setup, I think its totally different than brackish, I'm not sure how a salt cycle works. I believe your live rock is going to be acting as the real filter & I've seen people fill the middle chamber with the rock but again I'm the wrong guy to talk to.
