Its ok, we'll get there, slowly but surely . How big of a sump tank can you fit wherever you want to put it? In general it's a good idea to just use a pre-made glass tank and construct the sump by siliconing in glass walls.

I can fit about 11inch deep in and then make it about 24inch long being about 20inch high.
or
I can fit about 14-16inch deep but only 18inch long but still about 20inch high.

I dont know if that helps but i think i would get a tank made from this fish place i know. (seeing how much before though).

how many chambers would i need? or does that really all depend on the size of the sump tank?

I built mine out of a 30 long, and I bet for you a 55 would be just about right for that size tank. I have a compartment for my skimmer that over flows into a compartment filled with live rock rubble, down and back up past the heater, through my fuge and then into the area where the return pump is. Pretty simple. I think the biggest size you can fit is the best size once you get the size chosen ask and i will draw you up a picture. Well for what you want (hardware, frag grow out area, and return section for pump) you'd want three chambers. Oooh but wait a min, you want to fit basically a 20gal sump under a display tank 150+gallons? How come space is so limited? Is this one of those MDF stands with shelves and junk everywhere? Pics would help

i just cant get my phone to work now (for pictures) so but i can only put so much under my tank as it has a stand built (here is a pic but its about 1 year old there and not my house) it is empty in my bedroom.

this tank i think is only 100 gallons not 150+ (i wish) i will try and get piictrues on here tonight or 2moroz some time.
