i came home today to find out the the power switch to tank had melted and fused last night at 12.20 am the one plug controls all my filter , heater and lights. so there has been no filter on for about 17 hours and no lights and temp dropped to about 21.how will this affect my bacteria in filter and fish and inverts. no very much stock so that one good thing. what was working though was my skimmer and power heads and there is 25kg of live rock in there. i have since re wired so all on individual circuits and all back on now.

You should be ok, bring up the temp, etc. slowly and don't add any new stock for a few days. Check your parameters regularly to see if there's an ammonia spike, if there is do a few water changes to get it back under control.
Bacteria are usually ok for about 24 hours.

IMO your livestock will be fine, i have had a couple of times when my temp lighting etc. has been down for a day or 2 and have never had any loses

As Aquascaper says get yer temp back up & i would do a full range of tests just to put yer mind at ease

:D
