Losing My Betta Girls

Thanks to all of you for your kind words. Two more of them had died overnight and one of the girls who was apparently clear has symptoms now and is in the hospital tank with the remaining girl. One girl is still clear of symptoms. Did another good change on the hospital tank today and added anti fungus and finrot med. Have tried any and all meds at my disposal for them. Having read through the article Wilder put in my emergency thread I am guessing they have the most deadly strain, which is why it's been so aggressive and not responding to medication. I let the lfs the original carrier came from today know but I doubt it'll make any difference to them. I refuse to buy my bettas from anyone but Kevin now. I will not do anymore rescues no help places with such disease so present to earn money from me. A little extreme maybe but I've watched all my beloved girls die because of rescueing one fish. Granted it was my mistake in having it briefly housed in a breeders net in their tank but it's not a mistake I intend to repeat, ever. I can only hope beginners here and the inexperienced learn from my mistake and it saves the life of other fish in the future.
Hugs,
P.

Haven't been on since Thursday. One girl is still clear of all symptoms. Another is still fighting off the infection. She's more active today so I'm hoping she'll be successful and live through this. :)
I will be looking to get some more girls in a week or two. My poor girl on her own still and the other, if she survives always had a tendancy to chase her. Wasn't a problem when there were plenty of other girls but if it's just the two it's gonna be an issue.
Happily I have managed to keep all my other tanks clear of any disease. BB (my male G.Gourami) was injured by one of his young sons (now removed) and seems to have concussion.
All my betta boys are fine and happy. I'd like to start spawning with my beautiful boys mid to end May but being that I've lost my HM and CT girls I may have to wait!!
Hugs,
P.

Thank you Joby & NG. On the upside, the last girl with Columnaris looks to be improving! She's still quite lethargic but most of the white fuzz is disappearing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her. She's eating aswell which is an excellent sign. If she does pull through this I don't know if her tail will ever be the same but frankly I don't care. So long as she is happy and healthy. I suspect she's unhappy being on her own in such a big tank right now (the tank is 20g) despite having Squidge next door and Ollie next door to Squidge, both within sight.
The lone healthy girl is seeming a bit miserable without her friends. She goes nuts when I go talk to her. I've renamed her Lady since she's always so gentle and she's finely built by betta standards. Almost like she reached the age of 4 months and never grew to adult size.
Hugs,
P.

I tried to gpve you a Oh Yeah, Yes, and Amen! earlier, but the satellite connection went down when I tried. So here it is now:

Oye, Yes, and Amen!

I lost my Sorority to fin rot. Must have been 25 girls. I have one girl--a Synirr girl--who is holding on still. But I don't have much hope. On the bright side I have my three Splashluff ladies quite healthy. Ms Kinky is still on my computer desk in her 1 usg bowl and seems to be settled and satisfied.

I'm so sorry, and understand how you feel. May your fish rest in peace...

Your fish were lucky to have a mommy that was just trying to do the best for them. Good luck to you on your healthy ones, and to any new girls you get.

Does nobody actually bother to read the dates on these things? this post is well over a year old. while i'm sure we all sympathize with miss dib dabs, is it really necessary to resurrect it now? hopefully by this time she has lots of new girls to console her.
