Loosing scales

I have noticed that one of my angel fish has a mark next to its gill. It looks as though the area that was black has fallen off and left a shiny surface.

Im not sure if he's been attacked or could it be some deseise I don't know what though. My water params seem fine. Nitrate a little high. but am doing regular water changes.

Anyone have any Ideas what this is and how I should treat??

I'm sorry I don't have any ideas. I'm sure some one will be along who will have an idea as to what you should do. Sorry to hear that your fish has something weird going on though.
