I currently have:

Albino
Peppered
Bronze
Panda
Trilli

Looking for something a little less common now. No real price budget.. upto say £50 per fish. I have looked into it myself and have drawn up a shortlist of possible species, but want your suggestions too. I am looking for something a little more active than your common Cory if possible.

Suggestions?

EDIT: I'm from the UK. If you could give me some useful links (excluding trimar which i have) that would be great, as Cory selection at my LFS's is limited, putting it nicely!

Get some sterbai. They're fab!

Or some skunk corys, or bandits. (Dont know all the fancy scientific names, sorry)

Try these links: the first are breeders who sell corys locally I believe and the second lists an online stockist.

I think there is a thread somewhere listing experiences with online retailers. We've yet to buy online.

There are lots of c numbers and such that seem fairly rare or obscure. Didnt think particular corys were more active than others. As long as theyre in a group theyll be playful and happy. Ours certainly are. :p

Check out this website for catfish

I currently house the following cory's-

Bronze / Albino's Corydoras Aenus
Peppered
Schwartzi
Trilineatus

Dwarf varieties -
Pygmaeus
Harbrosus

And found this unusual catfish by accident -
Aspidoras pauciradiatus

If you have a car apparantly there is a place called Wharf Aquatics near to you. My boyfriend Richehell on here comes from Newark. We plan to visit Wharf when we go down for Christmas.

According to Richie, if you go down the road near Lowdham, near to the prison, there is a garden centre with an excellent aquatics section with lots of rare fish and some larger varieties. This might be a good place to go.

There's the site. Their current fish stock may interest you. They have an interesting range of corydoras and other catfish.

Aww, Newark. You poor thing. Escaping there is the best thing I ever did.

Wharf sounds good, just the other side of Mansfield, so not too far.

The other one was World of Water:

I agree with you.. far too many chavs!

Anyway, yes I have been to Wharf Aquatics a while ago but they were running low on Corys and only had available what I could obtain from closer LFS's. However, I will be planning another visit there soon (school finishes tuesday midday!) so I will hopefully get down before christmas.
