Looking a pair of eye catching fish for my aquarium that stay midde to top of my aquarium.... Not really looking gouramis ... Current stock is
Rummy nose
Serpae tetra
Cardinals
Otos
Sterbai corys
2 bolivan rams
2 male guppys

Most of the time these fish stay middle to bottom of my tank so looking something for higher up it is a tall tank....
Temperature 26 degrees
Ph 7.2

In my 98 litre tank the top dwellers are Harl. Rasboras.  They seem to spend 90% of the time in the top 1/3.  I also have glofish and neon tetras.  The glofish go everywhere, and the Neons stay near the bottom.

Looking 2 sorta bigger fish like a male an female of some sort ya know what I mean.....?

Ah sorry - I did not read that carefully enough.  I missed the "pair" part!  Most of the bigger types I know of tend to be bottom dwellers, but I have not kept many fish over 3 inches.  Someone else will have an idea, I bet.

The only fish that really come to mind that fit your description would be angelfish or swordtails.  Angels would fit your needs, but I wouldn't put them with serpae tetra.  Swordtails aren't as big, but they would fit your stock better, I think.

I like the sound of angels better my serpae tetras seem to stay to themselves they don't go near my guppies are anything they don't look to nip at anything... Wonder will anyone have anymore ideas.?

I'm struggling to think of anything other than a gourami (ruled out) and an angel as suggested by eagles. However, I would e seriously concerned about the serpae tetras

If you want your current fish to move higher up the tank make sure your plants and ornaments reach te upper regions I the tanks - your fish will be more likely to swim nearer the top of the tank of they have places to explore/hide in up there.

Do u think the serpae would nip at the angels are what?? The back of my tank have all tall plants right to the top nearly the fronts all opened up so der is plenty of swimming area.....

Yes, that is the concern.  Long flowing fins of the angel may be too tempting for the serpae.  I know you mentioned that they are fine with your guppies, but the guppies fins are nothing compared to the angel's.

Would the angels not be able to handle themselves they can be aggressive when they want to be....

That's true, but I still think its a risk.  Serpae are a bit more agile than angels.

Yeah I agree these serpae tetras are getting mentioned a lot I might rehome them an get something else....... Angelfish are growing on me might get few small ones an let them grow together... Can't really make my mind up.......

If you really like the look of serpae, you might be interested in phantom tetras... They are VERY similar in appearance, especially the red phantoms.  They are also FAR less aggressive.
