Looking For Usa Members Who Live Around Me!

I'm in Peoria , Illinois. There aren't many people on here by me. I know Tolak, Oldman, and BorderCollie are by me. That's it though. I've had the pleasure of meeting both Oldman and Tolak.

highly doubt that, though there could be someone in hawaii.

that also makes me want to ask this, is anybody at all near or in RSM in orange county california?

hey hughessomefish!!! What kind of fish do you keep?

Mojo, the listing that I posted earlier leads to a club called COAST that meets in Costa Mesa. I also see a club listing for a killie club that meets in Seal Beach, which is only an hour from most of OC. The FAAS does not show them all.

Lokemer and Shi, the same listing lists a club that meet in Fairfax VA. The FAAS site again does not add anything.

For Jenste, there is a listing on our site for a RI club called Tropical Fish Society of Rhode Island that meets in Riverside the third Wednesday of each month at the ASPCA building.

For Erk, there is a club in Columbus that is less than 2 hours away.

Hughessomefish, there is a listing for a club that meets in Westport and another that meets in Manchester.

I looks like the best freshwater reference we have for the Albany area is way off in Manchester CT. There is a a reef club right in Albany and I would bet they know the local clubs better than we ever will. You might try contacting them Loraxchick.

I never did find any HI references Mystus. Although your area is well known for its fish farms, there are no clubs listed here or in the FAAS listing.

For Krib, you already know your local club and I see you at their auctions and at my club's auctions. I suspect you now how to make those critical contacts to find other hobbyists.

I didn't do anything magic here, just spent a few minutes with the TFF club listing for the US and on Yahoo maps to try to determine what was close and what was not for each person's listed location.

The same could be done using the UK listing but I don't know what is close to what else in the UK.

As noted in a previous post of mine, I am a member of my local fish club but it was a great disappointment - about 20 or so members and the meetings were more so to gather around with chinese food than anything else. They are huge enthusiasts of crayfish of all things!

I think the fish farms are more of a eating one for sea fish i think. Well thanks for looking around for me i really appreciate it.

There are some very nice livebearers bred in Hawaii. I even use the state web site for ideas of how to work with swordtails on a smaller scale, although the advice is intended for ponds in the thousands of gallons.

I have been trying to post for a couple hours now and my internet connection keeps cutting out....trying one more time before I head out for the day! Somehow this thread took a different turn than I was hoping....I have nothing against other regions etc...I was looking for more along the lines of little shoutouts about where other USA fish keepers were from....hoping to find someone close like hughessomefish in the next state over....

never meant it to get...for lack of a better word....as hostile as it did!

Merry Christmas everyone!!! Have a wonderful holiday with your loved ones (humans included....not just your fish )
