Looking For Plant Weights

okay one of my tanks is a bare tank with plants, now some of my plants are not in pots and are loose to keep them down i need weights, i got some form P&H but my local store is now out of stock, but i found this on ebay and wondered is it safe for aquarium use, this tank will have shrimp inside.

i did ask Maidenhead aquatics about weights and what there made from and the guy said they used to be made form lead but thats toxic??? as these are made from lead to are they toxic??  
 
any help guidance welcomed

yes they are made from lead lead si kinda weird it is only toxic in some forms it is only toxic when it comes into direct contact and it wont disintegrate or oxidise in water at any fast rate so you should be safe i don't know what they're made from now but alternatively you can tie the plant to a rock or stone 
 
comes into direct contact with what? i guess if they are all made from lead then i should be fine as I'm using some weights from the LFS that valli come in already n been in here for a few weeks now i may try it as i need a load of this stuff and don't fancy getting rocks to tie too
 
I tend to use ceramic plant weights, like these for example

You can get smaller ones, thats just an example.
 
And I tend to hide that ceramic weight either by burying it into substrate or hidden behind other plants.
 
BTW the lead weight are safe i think, but i prefer not to have lead in my tank, just in case. Personal choice i think really.
