title says it all, the tank is 32" x 7", i need a pleco that eats algae, the tanks pH is 7.6 so its a bit on the high side. temp is 80 degrees ferenheit, and please, dont say ottos, they just get eaten.

it has driftwood so no worries about wood eating plecos, like panaques.

A couple of bristlenose plecs would go very nicely in there. If you're lucky you could get a pair and have them breed with a cave or two. They require bogwood too to help with their digestion and they do a good job of controlling algae. I have mine in similar pH water with no problems at all. They are great characters too.

I would never recommend buying a fish just to clear up algae, a scraper is a cheaper option and does not mess with your filtration but these are great plecs maxing out at about 5 inches.

You will see them more if you have a few hiding places too as they feel more secure in their environment.

Just out of interest what have you got in the tank that eats your otos?

hey, i dont want one just to clean up algae, i luv plecos! lol

my baby flowerhorn eats chinese algae eaters and full grown danios, hes a pig!

ps. i hope theres no hybrid haters here, just got off planetcatfish with a guy "telling me off" about them being beasts and whatever.
