Hello all. Avid fish guy here(actually second fidlle to the misses, she's responsible for the start of the hobby), looking for a place to share all my fish experiences with everyone.
I noticed I seem to be across the sea from most of you. This isn't a geographic specific site, is it?
Looking foward to learning and sharing with all of you...
Dave

Hi there!

I hope to see you here posting often :) Rose is also from your part of the world, US that is :) But nationalitys are really not much of an issue cause we all have the common interest of fish !

Hi. and Welcome.

We don't care where anyone comes from as long as they have an interest in fish.
Noticed you've got a reef tank.
Whats in it and how long have you had it? A lot of my freinds have reefs but I've never had the cash to start one myself. It's the live rock thats a killer on prices.

Hope you enjoy yourself here, it also helps to have a slightly off the wall sense of humour here, and watch out for typo's. we're all ruthless.

Our reef tank. 90gal with a 30gal wet/dry sump, various pumps moving about 1200gal/hr, 100lbs live rock, two yellowtail damsels, a neon velvet, and a domino, a green brittle star, two Atlantic anemones and a purple long tip anemone, couple of camelback shrimp, and some crabs and snails. Just added our first two pieces of soft coral and a hard coral. Been up and running for about six months now. And the cost factor is a big hurdle to overcome. We bought much of our equipment over a period of time, but you have to bite a big one all at once when it comes to firing it up and dumping in live rock. I have 200 dollars in sand! Gets a little scary thinking a catastrophe could cost you a grand. But the colors and all the little critters are an amazing thing to behold.
Now wife and I are in stasis with the tank for a year or so waiting for it to mature before we can add much more.
So now we have time to devote to our freswater tanks again. It really feels good to devoting some time and money back on the little guys that got us hooked in the first place.
We miss having the 90 as a freshwater already. We had it planted, and had some beautiful driftwood in it, along with about 60-80 fish at different times. I have some good discoveries I can share when I have more time, and don't have three Mothers Day Ladies wondering why I am ignoring them...L..

Hiya,
I am an American as well - but I have moved to NZ so I too am across the ocean - but as luck would have it - I may have a few sites for you - I guessed you meant forums - try:

FishProfiles.com
Very very busy - lots of knowledgable people

FishGeeks
Has some really annoying popup - but is turning out to be a great resource

See you there!
