I found it really neat that both of them make their first real bubble nests during the night last night for me to wake up and find on Easter morning

Edit* Actually I saw Orion working on his last night, but Draco's was a complete surprise. Here's Orion flaring my finger last night while he was working on his

Bubblenests are where they hide their eggs when they're breeding.

It's also a sign that the fish is happy, healthy, and desires breeding. He's just prepping for any female that might wander his way.

It's so cute to watch them working on them, but I always feel guilty when I have to wreck them to change their water. Poor Draco's gets wrecked every day as he is getting daily water changes right now because I suspected the beginnings of fin rot on the tip of his anal fin last week. Just the one fin looked clamped and had a little wispy looking area on the very tip. It seems to have been arrested and is looking much better, the wispy tip is gone and the fin is almost completely unclamped again. :)
