£50 is too much and his fins are the best quality, for him, I wouldn't pay over £25

The simple answer to your question is that it looks like he did get that much, regardless of what we may think of the price.

in that photo that fish's confirmation is nearly flawless. i can see him going for that much. hes a top notch show quality fish! beautiful at that!
personally, id never pay that much for a betta. even IF i love them so! too many out there that need good homes (like owning a mutt dog instead of a pure-bred. i wouldnt really breed them anyway, mostly out of principle).

He was stunning! If I had £50 to blow, I'd happily blow it on that fish. Not that I have £50 to spend on a fish, mind. I've spent £40 a few times before and that hurt my wallet.

Plus I like to rehome where I can instead of funding more breeding while some animals are abused and homeless. But #41####, that's a nice fish.
