So yesterday I heard a noise from near the tanks that sounded like a light object falling. I did not look thoroughly & saw nothing amiss. Several hours later, I heard Rocky the French Bulldog, chewing something on my bed & making weird cracking sounds. Initially it looked like a small flashlight & I was scared.

Turns out the container of micro floating betta food had tumbled from a stand near the tanks. Must be air pump vibrations slowly pushed the little can over the edge. Very strange Rocky got to it hours later & stranger yet he was so eagerly lapping them down! He had been recently fed & didn‘t finish his dinner. Rocky was not hungry, but carried on like he was eating bacon bits.

Usually the betta food is placed elsewhere. I’ve ordered more online that will arrive Sunday. Rocky kindly saved some for the betta.

Most dogs and cats love fish food. I had to keep my containers up high on a shelf to stop the dogs getting them, and if any food fell on the ground, it was gone instantly. :)

My papillon chewed through the phone cable once. She was just lying in the doorway and I didn't notice her chewing the cable. Then the internet dropped out and I got up to check the connection. The little dog came slinking into my room and sat down next to me. I presume she got a minor zap when she got to the copper wire :)

My kelpie x used to take fish out of buckets and wander off to eat them. I found this out one time when I took some fish to the pet shop. The boss asked if I was trying to rip him off and I said what? He said there were only 9 fish in the bag and there should be 10. I had a look and there were 9 so I went home and got him a couple more to fill the order. A few weeks later I was doing another order and had 10 fish in a bucket. I went to get a bag for the fish and came back to see the dog with her head in the bucket and she pulled out a fish and took off with it. I counted the remaining fish in the bucket and there were 8.

The same kelpie x used to pull jellyfish out of the local river. She would walk around in the water and feel about for things with her feet. Then shove her head underwater and pull out these big brown jellyfish. She would carry them up to the bank and drop them on the sand then go back for more.

When I took her to the beach she did the same thing in the weed beds and would flush out octopus, crabs, prawns and fish. Then she would be bouncing through the water chasing after them. She was hilarious, and really smart.
