Your black phantom looks like a serpae though but I looked it up and they look the same just without the reddish tink. Maybe its' just your lighting?

No... it is a long finned gold barb. You are right!!!!! I posted pictures on the other page of the difference in fish.

I used to have the serpaes, and they looked a lot different the the BP.

That is exactly what I was thinking when everbody was telling me that the were rosy barbs. I am going to post pics of my neon blue gourami, but I have to go look at tanks right now. So expect them later!

If you look, it seems like the color is washed out by the photo, it is not what her other picture is, nor do i have any idea why she thinks it is, look how thin the fish is!

The color didn't get washed out at all by the photo. He looks the same in real life.
What other picture are you talking about?
I am going to call it a golden barb, because that is what my lfs and book say.
I can tell you this, that fish is not thin at all.
