Hey all. So I was at petco the other day, and having developed a good relationship with some of the 'fish' employees, one stopped me as I looked at all the little cichlids and guppies. He pointed me to a small baby betta just put out today, knowing that I have two baby bettas and have had success with them. He for some reason was attached to this fella and wanted him in good hands. I picked him up for free because he wasn't the most appealing to the eye and was lethargic.
I have named the little dude Stefan. I'm unable to tell whether it is a male or female because his/her fins are really tiny. I can always change it to Stefanie
I have an ongoing theme of naming my bettas human names (Laura, Vladimir, and now Stefan)
Here he is next to my finger for size comparison. I wear a size 7 ring, average size hands, towards the smaller side
Yes, he is in a small 1 gallon bowl for now because I have nothing better to quarantine him in. He will be moving into the divided up 40 gallon with my other baby bettas once he proves he is not diseased and rather just poorly cared for. I will do my best with him, I doubt anyone else buying him from petco would have kept him alive long. He has eaten some brine shrimp and a few fry pellets and compared to the first night I had him, where he just hung at the top like he was dead, he is doing much better now - swimmingly if i do say so myself
