I had until this morning 8 longfin serpea tetras. When I first got them one swam into a hole in a rock and got stuck - after much fuss we managed to get it out and by some miracle it survived if a bit scarred!! - last night another one did it when i was doing a water change - unfortunely was very badly injured and was dead this morning -

Is this something that they are prone to doing? never known any other fish do it before

I am not having any issues with any other fish, they just don't seem to be able to gauge their own body size or something, they just go to swim though a hole get themselves stuck. I put the first one down to experience but now has happened again......

I don't really want to take all the rocks out as all other fish are settled. Am just a bit stuck for answers really

Never had that happen
Just a suggestion but if it was me Id block the hole by bunging in a bit of java moss or an anubia barteri plant .Both will attach themselves to the rock and are dead easy to grow.

I'VE HAD ANOTHER ONE DO IT!!!

Last night another one just swam into the rock! - The rocks I have have lots of bubble holes in them some hole go all the way through the rock and others don't - I'm sure you knwo the type I mean.
Another long fin just swam into one again last night - it hole didn't even go all the way through the rock so can't image that it though it could get through!

Have managed to get it out and is noow swimming around quite jerkily and on a slight tilt. I have put anitfungus treatment in the water - is there anything else that I can do to give it a chance?
