Mmmmmm, shrimp jerky!

I've had similar experiences with ottos. Some of them tend to go into hiding, and they really suffer from travel and time in pet store tanks because they starve, and they're so small they often reach a point of no return before they arrive in our tanks. When I tore down my last South America tank, I found an otto I hadn't seen in over six months, alive and well behind the filter. I do believe they are schooling fish, and I want to try keeping a big school, 10 or 20, and see if they are out and about more.
