Long Or Tall?

So I am getting a new tank tomorrow. I have two options. I can either get a hexagon shaped 40 gallon tall tank, or a long 30 gallon tank. I am trying to get as many bigger fish as possible iin the tank, so which would you recomend? I was thinking that the longer tank may be better because they could swim straight across for longer than in the tall tank. What should I do bigger and taller, or less and longer? The measurements of the long tank are 36"x12 1/2"/17, I wasn't able to get the measurements of the taller tank, but here is a link to a pik of it. http/images.craigslist.org/0102070104040...327bc009301.jpg

less and longer, most fish prefer long tanks anyway

I'd second the 30g. It'll also be easier to aquascape than the hex.

yeah, longer i read somewhere on here that its cause fish dont swim upwards which was a very good point lol
