Hi!

I'm new to these forums but have found reading some of the questions and answers really helpful since I set up my first tropical aquarium 4 months ago.

My question is: Can you mix 'standard' and long finned albino bristlenoses? I have a 'standard' male and am after a female to pair with him. Unfortunately my local aquarium only ever stocks the long finned breed. Do you think this will be a problem?

Many thanks!

Yes, you can mix long-finned and normal BNs no problem. The long-fin gene is dominant, so any babies the pair produce will also be long-finned, but their babies would be 1/4 pure long-fin, 1/2 long-finned carrying normal (so they'd look long-finned), and 1/4 normal :)
