Yeah, the reason I don't like it is because it

a. doesn't look nice

b. isn't natural, I know that I'm probably gonna get flamed for that comment, but I just don't think it suits an oscar

Although I do not like this oscar variety, bettas are basically the same case!

very good point and exactly what I was thinking, so we have to bear that in mind. I personally, prefer the 'less fancy' betta tail types, eg the plakat.

Unfortunatly they are around, my boyfriends friend had 3 oscars and then bought this so called long tailed version.... lets just say, it didnt live very long... its pretty crazy how ugly it is even with the pretty fins.. I'd still take my Oscar Bubba over that one any day!

I agree it does sort of take the OSCARness away from the Oscar. But, I am glad I got to see the picture. Cuz my lfs doesn't have anything like that!!
