Long-fin Bristle Nose

My local LFS has long finned bristle nose catfish. Does anyone know if these are genuine wild varieties or is it fish breeders mucking about with the species again.

I'd hate to think these little fellows go the way of the guppies and goldfish and we end up with lots of ornamental varieties that can't function as well as the wild variety and are nipped all the time.

Some Longfin varieties wouldn't bother me but I agree. I usually prefer the natural fish, nature usually does a better and more interesting job then we can.

they are natural.. but have been selectivly bread i believe... i wouldnt have them myself - if you see how a normal bristle nose behaves there is no way the long fin can lead a normal life... :(
