I just completed a ~65% water change and I noticed Hank was swimming around erratically and looking stressed. I was about to panic and come right to here when I decided to turn the lights off or him and then ask for help. Surprise, his swimming turned peaceful literally immediately. Yay me for being a self sufficient fish owner

Ps, Hank is Beautiful with a capital B as a silhouette in a dark tank, especially when he lets his fins out

I'm actually making another post with questions about plants and it's gonna be a long one so while I'm here, if my LPS tested my water and said it had 0 chlorine do I still need to use a dechlorinator? I'm fine with my room smelling like a lake for Hank's health but if it's unnecessary I'd rather not lol

Go you! Go hank! Go TFF!

TFF taught me tons too :)

What is the source of your water?
If it is supplied down mains pipes and you pay for it, it will have been treated with chlorine or chloramine.
If you have a private well, it won't have been treated so no chlorine or chloramine.
If you use 100% RO water it won't contain chlorine or chloramine.
