Hello guys and gals
I have started to notice snails in my 55gal tank and instead of taking care of them with chemicals i am going to get some snail munching loach but i am aware some are aggressive towards other bottom dwelling fish such as my cories.
What loach would be fine with them i dont want clown loach (even though they are great fish to watch :hyper: ) as they get too large and i think skunk loach are too aggressive from what i have read  also khuli loach i am just not interested in having in my tank plus never hear of them actually eating snails  .
If anyone has any ideas please feel free to throw them at me  .
Thank you

In very general terms, mixing loaches and cory catfish in the same tank does not appear to work very well, as the boisterous and greedy nature of many loaches results in the catfish not getting a fair share of the offered food.

There are a few exceptions to this rule, which is one of the main reasons I choose a group of Brochis multiradiatus to go with my Weather Loach group in my 5-footer.

Dwarf Chain Loaches (Yasuhikotakia sidthimunki) stay small and eat snails, but I don't know off hand if they would be nice tankmates for standard cory catfish.

I can confirm Dwarf Chain Loaches are good tankmates with Cories but as of yet I haven't seen them go near any of the snails in my tank.

Have kept, and am keeping YoYo loaches along with coydora's but as mentioned,,seeing that the cory's get their share can be tuff.
Loaches in my expierience will nearly always go for fish foods rather than get after snail populations where fish food is available.
For snail population, you would in my view ,,need to keep loaches very hungry in another tank and then turn em loose in the tank with snails for them to very effective.

+1 for dwarf chain loaches/yoyo loaches

..but personally, I would find the cause of the snail population (usually overfeeding) and remove that instead.

I have yoyo loaches that did a great job with my snails
they haven't bothered my panda corys either just be sure after the snails are gone to keep them feed
