Llj's 8G Oceanic Biocube

*Waits for Pichers*

Peeechurs are here...

Full tank shot... The clown is a ham and tbh, a bit aggressive to the firefish. Not biting aggressive, just annoyingly boisterous for the firefish's taste.

Top view, I still need to get a hydor Flo.

Valley with gsp, I managed to find a smaller piece that matches the large one with regard to neon color under LEDs. The new mohawk palythoas are to the left.

Zoa rock with nice fat aiptasia. A big one, hasn't spread... yet.

More gsp, see how I have a lighter one (bottom right). I don't like this one, he'll go to another tank once I find one that matches.

green infusion paly with cyphastrea. Cyphastreas did very well as did my favias. Elegance didn't do well and neither did some of the sps. Tank, despite the purigen and chemi-pure elite is still too new. It's a paly tank now pretty much. They are like wildfire and beautiful.

The Caribbean paly that survived the 36g crash. Doing much, much better and I see new polyps already.

Lunar eclipse palythoas with an anemone crab. They're doing great. I think there was a scuffle, but they have three separate territories now.

Duncan, I lost count how many heads. :D

Unidentified hornet zoanthids. This thing has gone crazy, many polyps now. All over the other side.

Red hornet zoanthids and branching green favia. A lot more than five polyps now.

I don't have a great picture of my God of Wars right now. They attacked my green people eaters, or somebody did, could be the birdsnests as well. The GOWs have taken off. I started with 2 polyps in one colony and 4 in the other. I thought I had 16 polyps as of now, but it turns out there are significantly more. I tried to count them, but my clownfish kept charging my hand and I didn't want to be bitten.

No plans for this tank right now, other than the move. Maybe a cleaner shrimp and a perching fish of some type in the future. Not sure about a goby/pistol pair, I've got the favia on the substrate and I don't want anybody bothering it or the duncan. Perhaps though a yasha will make less mess. I know the YWG and the tiger pistol are way too messy. It's either that or a clown goby of some type. I like the green ones. Fat heads. Hehehe. I may frag some palys when I get the proper protection. Won't do it until I have goggles, a facemask, gloves, and a sharp scalpel.

Thanks for looking.

I got a couple things for this tank today...

I traded some chaetomorpha to get a discount on these two items..

A really cool yuma, I think, but it's really small still. Hope it does ok. You can also see my Caribbean cucumber in the picture. Still going strong.

Also got this palythoa/zoa cluster. Under LEDs it looks awesome. Firefish says "hi" :D

Finally, I got a high-fin perchelet for this tank. Right now he's in quarantine, but as soon as he checks out ok, he gets put into the Biocube. A really cool fish. The former owner of this tank also had one and really recommended them.

And epic picture of the God of Wars. Well, this is just an incredible paly. Some polyps were closed, he just finished eating.

Thanks for looking! :D

Love the new things! They all look great! How much were your God of Wars?

Depends, $20 a polyp is not considered an unreasonable price for this palythoa. Depends on the market. Sometimes Armor of God will be more popular and then this one will come back in popularity. Right now, Armor of God is more popular, cause it's rarer and doesn't grow as fast. GOW grows really fast, at least for me. I have one colony that grows slower than the other, but considering that one colony started from one polyp and now has 4, and the other had 4 polyps and now has 12-16 polyps, the growth rate is actually spot on.

A cacophony of colours there. Very inspirational.

Must control urge not to spend

LOL Xraymark I know the feeling! haha. I am just starting in on this 90 and I wanna spend so bad and there is not even water in the tank.

Lissette! Amazing, these are such great frags. What did the lot cost you in the end just curious. Those green palys OMG they are so huge, great great pictures of them. Lunar eclipse HEAVEN! Those are awesome. I have been staring for 15 minutes at the photos lol.

And oh ya, the aptaisia... mine is spreading UGH. Its decimating my first colony of zoas and I cant rid it of the space.

Depends, some frags were as little as $5, some were free. Most were in the $10-20 range. The God of wars were priced per polyp, I paid about $15 per polyp, as I was making an investment. My other expensive ones were my true red hornets, they were $10 a polyp, so $50 originally, but... I now have over 12. My Duncan was $35, which still isn't a bad price. My favia was $20. I got more when I was working. Now that summer's come along, I can't spend and have to look for deals (tank break downs are awesome, that's how I got the GOWs).

The aiptasia scares me. I must nuke mine. I'm tempted to just remove the rock it's in and treat it in quarantine. I don't want to botch up the treatment and end up making him divide. I don't want him near my GOWs. Though I think palys are more tough.

I also want the yasha haze. Will be trading out two fishm the hawk is to aggressive towards shrimp and things. And my firefish that was supposed to be the mocha tankmate.

Just some fun gsp pictures. Neon! LOLOL

You can see that it's starting to spread along the biocube wall.

On a sadder note, I can't find my perchelet anywhere in the quarantine tank, so... Looks like no fish for a while in this. I'm happy with the clown and the firefish for now. Eventually, I may mate the clownfish with another smaller ocellaris and move the two to the 36g tank. We'll see.

Now that I don't have a perchelet, I can add shrimp to this tank and I may. I dunno.
