Hello,

My name is Melisa Scarman, I live in South Australia and have been keeping fish for five years. I have a real passion for both mbuna and livebearers (but obviously they are not kept together), just two years ago I upgraded my guppies to a 4ft tank dedicated just to them.

I am currently in my final year of high school and one compulsory subject we are required to complete is Research Project. For this subject we go through step-by-step the process of researching a topic of our choosing. Given my love of fish I chose to do my research on the care of common livebearing fish. I hope that any information I gather will be useful when I branch out into other species of live bearers, as I currently only keep guppies and platies.

I have chosen to do a survey as part of my research, as such I would greatly appreciate if anyone who keeps mollies, platies, guppies, swordtails or endlers livebearers would be willing to fill out the survey.

Here is the link to my survey for anyone who is willing to participate https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/3HJSVZW

Thanks everyone, all responses are greatly appreciated. So far everyone, bar one person, who has responded keeps live plants with their livebearers, it also appears most people are keeping the same general varieties of live plants.

Pretty poor list to choose from only 2 types of livebearers ,So the survey is pretty limited for information gathering

I saw five general species listed, the most common live bearer varieties... I don't know if the author changed the survey in view of your comment...

It's a pity you haven't published the results. I really enjoy reading the results of different surveys. Moreover, for me online surveys are an option when I need extra money. By the way, have you ever thought that taking online surveys for money is a perfect variant when you don't have much free time? I was advised to check the article on https://yourmoneygeek.com/ and it helped me a lot. I do still use this article to find the best reliable sites where you can earn taking online surveys. These money I spend on new equipment for my hobbies.

I'm afraid we'll never know as the OP hasn't been on the forum for 4 years.
