Live Rock Sources In The Uk

Unsure of any UNCURED Supplier

But UDA sell really good quality Fijian LR

Can anyone recommend any online suppliers for live rock in the UK, ideally uncured?

I dont really know anywhere that sells uncured live rock online.

If you live in surrey so theres some excellent marine shops around and im sure maybe one could get you uncured is thats what you are really after.

I have spoken to Maidenhead Aquatics in Morden and they sell it, but it's rather pricey there... £14.95 per kilo.

Was wondering is there was anywhere else that I could try instead.

Actually, UDA looks VERY good, top of the list so far.

Also found: http://www.atlantisaquatics.co.uk who sell 15KG boxes for £140.

Thanks Miaggi.

Of all the places I have looked, I have only ever seen Fijian for sale, are any other types available in the UK?

The pics of Marshall Island Rock look fantastic.

Heritage Aquatics in wallington sell Indonesian live rock, think its about £9 a kilo

Wallington?

I go through there to get to Morden, AND I could get a cab home with the rock...

Thanks for the tip, will look them up.

I wouldnt really go to morden alot when looking for marine stuff, there prices are soo expensive, heritage aquatics is a marine only shop and really good.

Where abouts in surrey do you live, I could tell you some other good places

I live in Croydon and any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I have always gone to Mordon as I've been completely fresh water up to now and they're good for that. The other shops that I know of in the area have no marine section are the freshwater fish always look in pretty bad nick.

I live in south croydon so I know probably all the shops around here,

Maidenhead in morden is good for tropicals but they are very expensive for marines.
Heritage Aquatics in wallington is a new shop, marine only, very knowlesgable staff.
Reefworld in Epsom in good, small shop but good
Knights in Godstone is part of a garden centre but very good marine section.
World of fishes is my personal favourite - takes about 30 mins for me to drive there but worth it.
Sevenoaks tropical marine is usually voted marine retailer of the year, takes about 50 mins to get there, I dont go there too often as its a bit of a drive but worth a visit

Thanks very much Maestro.

The only shops I know of round here are:

Pets@home - eugh
The garden center off purley way - eugh
That place in the market - eugh
Aquazoo - eugh

Hence the journeys to Morden.

Will be taking a trip to heritage on saturday and maybe a couple of the others next weekend.

Its a bit hard to find heritage, its basically down a small track/road so it migth be best to take the phone number incase you have problems, If you know where woodcote green garden centre is then its basically behind that.

Here is the website with some pics

I used to go to aquazoo years ago, I remember getting my first tropical fish from there, it used to be ok but when I last visited about 2 years ago it looked empty

Aquazoo generally have all their tanks stocked, but the fish never look in great shape to me and the display tanks they have are absolutely TINY. I buy the odd plant from there and when I went in last weekend they had about 4 large discus crammed into a 1" cube display tank...

The staff don't know much about what they sell and the choices are very limited. Having said that, they're much better than the other shops I mentioned. :X

Well I took your advice and went to Heritage Aquatics this afternoon and thanks very much for the recommendation.

The stock was fantastic, the shark in the live rock pool was amazing and the 16 - 17 year old that I spoke to was VERY knowledgeable* and I will 100% be buying my liverock / stock there when the time comes. It's the middle of nowhere but a first rate shop once you've found it.

*don't mean that to sound patronising, I was just impressed by his knowledge and that the advice he gave was GOOD advice rather than sell more stuff advice.
