I think i'm addicted to Live rock!

I've just ordered another 6KG of the lovely cured stuff for my tank.

That will now make a total of almost 28kg for my....er!.............28G tank.

Thats 1kg of LR per gallon almost!

I'll now have a lovely selection of Fiji, Java, Plate, Tonga etc in there.

Is there a cure for my addiction as I just can't help buying the stuff LOL! [I'm even paying top whack for it] I wonder if there are any local dealers on the streets [instead of a pair of trainers hanging from a telegraph pole line, it will be a media bag full of rubble!]

At this rate, i'll be taking out my lr rubble, rolling it into some rizla and start smoking it! lol!

I'm gonna need a bigger tank!.......

Woody, I'm thinking what you need is a spot of rock porn. If you're lucky I might do another tank video with some gratuitous close ups and some Fiji with really low morals and crevices akimbo and draped with only a thin cover of Coraline. If I set up a premium phone line talking about it and then stick cards for it in phone boxes near you am I going t make a mint?

Myself and a group of mates formed a Motorcycle Rally Club many years ago and we run a website for us to organise nights out and stay in touch, we have tent porn where members can post their new instant up or super compact tents.

Yes, there are cures! They're called bobbit worms.

I might as well chuck my salifert ammonia and nitrite test kits away as im not gonna need em with this amount of live rock in a small tank! lol!

I could probably get away with turning my substrate upside down with no effect of a spike! .................................dont worry, I won't!.... :shifty:

Are they quite common in tanks.

I certainly wouldn't put my hand in my tank if I saw one poke its ugly head out my substrate or LR.

Mate sticking your hand in isn't the problem!

I suppose your right mate. Prob wake up one morning to find no fish and inverts!...........just a fat bobbit! Lol!

My new rock is in the tank and it's full of life. Absolutely all sorts hanging on and off it.
I've slightly changed my rock scape now with the rock building slowly along the back and side of the tank and peaking at it's highest in the one corner.

Will post a pic up later in my journal when it clears.

I was toying with an idea I have had that would thrill all you live rock fans.

As some of you may have seen in my Malawi tank I built a background, mimicking the look of a rock wall by shaping polystyrene blocks and siliconing them to the back of the tank (I have a thing about being able to see through a tank and stick on backgrounds that look stuck on).
Well before I even think in any detail about my 5ft tank I was toying with the idea of cutting lumps of Live rock in half with a stone cutter and sticking them onto the back of the tank. A filtering wall, and no algae concerns. I reckon it could look incredible. Going to search the net and see if anyone else has done it.

It has been done on here before but not with Live rock, take a look at BigC journel - I will try a nd find it for you :good:
