That really depends on my fish. I have the one who eats nothing else but bloodworms and peas, so he gets about 8. The other ones get anywhere from 3-6 each. I also do not feed them bloodworms everyday(except for Leroy, he gets them 5 times a week with a day for fasting and a day for peas). They probably only get bloodworms once or twice a week.

I haven't tried bloodworms yet.... my Bob refuses to eat the frozen daphnia i give him. He gives me this look as if to say "what?!?!!? Swim after my food? No! I refuse!!" so I just keep sticking his pellets on the end of his nose and he keeps eating them!!! I tried him on peas, tried to kid him they were little green pellet bits..... not too thrilled, but he either eats his peas or starves!

He's a big fat lazy betta!!

I usually feed some type of frozen (bloodworms, daphnia, brine shrimp or tubiflex worms) about 3 times a week (to both my community tanks and the bettas). Although bettas love blood worms, you have to be careful not to feed them too often since blood worms are very high in protein and hard to digest. That can lead to swim bladder/constipation problems. Brine shrimp on the other hand are very low in nutrition value so even though they love them, they wont get much nutrition from them. I mainly feed mine the Hakari Bio Gold betta Bites. they love them.

I checked the "other" option because my fish aren't on any specific food plan. Some weeks they get live bloodworms every day, some weeks they get none. Sometimes I feed defrosted bloodworms, sometimes I don't. You get the picture... :p Eyedroppers have worked best for me for both live and frozen bloodworms. It's the most convenient way to control the amount that the fish eat.

SO my first feeding of frozen bloodworms went great! Sunshine almost jumped out of the water when he saw it coming. I was careful with what I used to feed though. They went crazy over the bloodworms...they realy love it. I fed them like 6 worms. They're stomach was looking nice and round so I stopped. I loved seeing them so happy with their food.

If you want to see something REALLY funny, give them a very small cricket. They run around with it in their mouths and end up tearing it to pieces. Girly tanks are especially funny with crickets...everyone here grabs a leg and swims backward, then the run around with it in their mouths and flare at anybody who tries to take their piece of the cricket. It's as funny as when they're eating peas.

Do any of you guys feed your bettas Beef Heart, the frozen cubes they sell at the lfs?
