It all started about 4 days ago when i left my window open in my room and my 55 gallon reef tank droped down to 70 degrees, all my fish looked fine except my hippo tang he had white dots on him and i thought it was ick he eas swimming funny and resting a lot. Over the next few hours i raised the temp up to its normal 78-79 temp. By the end of the day all the dots where gone and my tang was doing much better. Today i woke up and there are little white dots everywhere in my tank, I know there alive because they move on the glass. So what are they and what should i do about them? My fish and corals seem fine? Thxs for any help

The fish showed ich and the white dots are copepods and just plain detritus :)

okay THXS im glad to hear that the white dots are copepods, but should i be worried about the ich? or is everything okay with my tank, and he just showed the ich because he was stressed.

Most tangs live in a permanent state of ich or having dormant ich that they will show when stressed. Keep him in optimal water conditions and you should be fine.

I found that a neon goby will help keep the ich under control if it apperars. there only about £12 and 3" fish wont have a big impact on a system.
