i ahd mine in a 20 gal fo a while and he started lying down sideways on a rock. thjen i bought the 105 gal and he was all better! wat u got him in?

if you didn't cycle the tank it could be ammonia harming him, try a water change

When i started out with fish i had some african cichlids in an uncycled tank, two died they didn't have an indented stomach, they just had little coloring, were inactive, and scratched them selves by rubbingg up againdt decor

Other uncycled tank symptons include shimying(swimming on the spot), and slightly bulged eyes not to the extent of popeyes, also most of your fish should have dificulty try to get the test kit asap i think

But this sounds like a diet problem to me though i'm by far not an expert

Don't use the crapper. At least give him a quick and painless death with frozen vodka. Cheap kinds work great. I always have a bottle in the freezer in case I have to pull out the grim reaper.

I love fishies, but I don't like seeing them suffer.

i used frozen vodka. He was almost gone so i thought it was time. He was costipated! Thats y he had a concave tummy. I didnt realize when i bought him and thats why he died I'm waitin to try another, moving onto breeding firemouths

Vodka doesn't freeze, you just keep it in the freezer so it's cold. Some people suggest putting a fish in a glass of vodka as a means of euthanasia.
