my oscar has always been very lively. I got home today to add a juvie firemouth to my collection to find him resting on a pebble hiding which he never has done. I've noticed when i got him his tummy is a bit concave, im worried he mite die :-( Please help.

P.s: He's with a pleco and a BGK. They love eachother

This is vips gf. In order for us to help you we need more information such as:
-water changes
-daily feeds
-tempreture
-amonia reading
From what you have told us it isnt enough for us to pin point the problem.

Who knows he might just be over feed and have a full belly but look more into it.

Nici.......

hes not over feeding........u mustve miss understood.....theres a dent in the stomach of the poor wittle oscar. he does water changes every second day and feeds them most mornings and every night. temp is normal about 75 degrees farinhite and im nto sure about the amonia.

i'v seen a lot of people over feed oscars without knowing it, they tend to "beg" for food and a lot of owners find it hard to resist giving them food.

Although they may not think they're doing harm, they could be

::dunno: well i didnt see any of that information. That was my opinon from the information that i didnt know i didnt say that it was the reason of over feeding i said it may be a possibility as Doggfather added its possible to over feed without realising! he may also be constipated?!. Thats why i also asked for him to check the above so that i could have more of an idea of the way his treating his tank and therefore is easier for him to get the right information needed for his sick oscar.

Nici.......

thanx guys for the info.........Silva sed hes gettin better at the moment so we'll just have to wait and see. It could also be under feeding cuz Silva only had frozen brine shrimp to feed him but he bought new world cichlid pelets today so we just have to wait and see wat happens

well it was in a 15 gal but he moved to a 85 gal after a week or 2

he seems to be struggling to swim is there anything i can do say if he is constiopated. He is struggling and having sudden outbursts of like seizures!!!
